Philip Cook was born in Washington DC on July 19, 1990.  He was raised in Hyattsville, MD and went to DeMatha Catholic High School. He later graduated from Limestone College in South Carolina. Philip worked as an accountant for Raffa, now Marcum. Philip has volunteered with the VITA tax program providing tax services for low income families. Philip is currently employed as a data auditor at Vanda Pharmaceuticals.

Philip and his wife Lily have lived in Gaithersburg for six years and are raising their two year old son here. He and his wife are engaged in many of the activities at St. Martins church. He serves as an usher, lector and is active in the education and fundraising activities there. Philip is passionate about ensuring that all residents of Gaithersburg are represented, especially those who have been feeling ignored.

Environment

Stand up for the environment. Conserve trees and green spaces.

Small Businesses

Support small businesses and incentivize them to come to Old Town.

Jobs

Work with the council to create more jobs and grow economy in Gaithersburg.

Parks

Every neighborhood should have a park or playground for kids to play.

Lakeforest Mall

Work with owners to develop a multi-use facility that could include housing and entertainment.

Districts

Work for the creation of district/at-large council mixture to ensure all parts of the city are represented.

Public

Always be willing have an open dialogue with the public and to listen to them to ensure all their needs are met.

5G Towers

We should not have them in our city.
